On June 5, 2024, a meeting was held in Canberra, hosted by H.E. Mr. Beka Dvali, Ambassador of Georgia to the Commonwealth of Australia. The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Vagif Jafarov, Head of Mission and Charge d’Affaire of the  of Azerbaijan to Australia, H.E. Mr. Ufuk Gezer, Ambassador of Turkiye to Australia, as well as the co-chairs/representatives of the friendship groups with Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye in the Australian Parliament. The co-chairmen/representatives included Mr. Graham Perrett MP, Chair of the Australian Parliamentary Group on Georgia, and the Honourable Michael McCormack MP, Co-Chair of the Australian Parliamentary Group on Georgia. Representing the Friendship Parliamentary Group with Azerbaijan was Mr. Gavin Pearce MP (Australian Parliamentary Group on Azerbaijan), and representing the Parliamentary Group on Turkiye were Mr. Rob Mitchell MP (Chair, Australian Parliamentary Group on Turkiye) and Senator the Honourable Richard Colbeck (Co-Chair, Australian Parliamentary Group on Turkiye).

On May 21, 2023, in Australia’s capital Canberra, the Embassy of Georgia to the Commonwealth of Australia hosted a reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia at the National Gallery of Australia. The representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australian governmental institutions, members of the Parliament of Australia, non-governmental organisations, academic and business circles, the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Canberra and Georgian diaspora members attended the event.
