Information on energy security seminar co-hosted by the Embassy of Georgia in Australia
On 26 September 2024, the Embassy of Georgia in the Commonwealth of Australia, the Embassy of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Hungary, in collaboration with the Centre for European Studies of the Australian National University (ANU), co-hosted in Canberra a seminar: “Black Sea Interconnectivity Hub and European Energy Security: Strategies, Projects and Best Practices”.
In their respective presentations and interventions, Australian National University (ANU) Renewable Energy Engineering Professor Andrew Blakers, Ambassador of Georgia H.E. Mr. Beka Dvali, Ambassador of Hungary H.E. Mr. Zsolt Csenger-Zalan and Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dr. Vagif Japarov, discussed energy security issues, green energy potential of Georgia and Azerbaijan as well as interconnectivity between South Caucasus and the European Union, including through pending project of Black Sea Submarine Electricity Cable.
Members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Australia, representatives the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia as well as Canberra-based experts and researchers participated in the event.
