INFORMATION ON THE MEETING OF GEORGIAN AMBASSADOR WITH THE CHAIR OF THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS, DEFENCE AND TRADE COMMITTEE OF THE PARLIAMENT OF NEW ZEALAND
On 7 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Beka Dvali, Ambassador of Georgia to New Zealand (with residence in Canberra, Australia), during his working visit to Wellington, held a meeting with Hon. Tim van de Molen, MP, Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence And Trade Committee of the Parliament of New Zealand.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dvali reflected on Georgia’s foreign policy priorities and challenges, issues related to Georgian territories occupied illegally by Russian Federation, necessity of continued support by international community, including New Zealand, to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Georgia-New Zealand relations and the need of developing inter parliamentary contacts and dialogue.
Hon. Tim van de Molen noted that New Zealand continues to advocate for the rules-based international order and will always stand in solidarity with Georgia on the issue of sovereignty and territorial integrity. Honourable Member of the New Zealand Parliament expressed its support to developing dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries.
