The event dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Restoration of the State Independence of Georgia

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Georgia’s independence, on 23 April 2021, the Embassy of Georgia to Australia held a photo exhibition/reception. The event was attended by the representatives of the Australian Governmental Institutions, academic and business circles, Diplomatic Corps accredited in Canberra as well as Georgian compatriots.

In his address, H.E. Mr George Dolidze, Ambassador of Georgia spoke about the events of 1991, namely the historic referendum held on the 31st of March by which the Georgian people expressed their free will to national independence and the declaration of independence of the 9th of April adopted by the Supreme Council, thus freeing the country from 70 years long Soviet rule.

After the official ceremony, the guests had an opportunity to taste a verity of the Georgian wines.
