On December 6, 2021 Ambassador payed courtesy call on President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere. The sides highlighted special bonds and friendly relations between Georgia and Fiji, while expressing their readiness and desire to advance existing cooperation to a higher level. Significance of cooperation in the field of education, through which Fiji acquired professional doctors, was stressed.
The fight against the climate change as well as the COVID-19 pandemic were also main focuses of the meeting. Environment protection issues were also addressed.
Ambassador of Georgia is the first non-resident Ambassador to pay a visit to Fiji since lifting pandemic-related travel restrictions.
Meetings with the representatives of the Government as well as the members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Suva are scheduled in frames of the visit.
